John Edward Tillman, 48, died at home in Homer on July 10, 2015. 

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2015, at the Bishops Beach Pavilion in Homer. Rev. Lisa Talbott will officiate. His ashes will be scattered in Kachemak Bay.

John, or Ed as he liked to be called, was born Nov. 10, 1966, in San Bernardino, Calif. He was a high school graduate.

He had lived in Homer since June of 2004 and enjoyed helping at the Homer Community Food Pantry. He also enjoyed fishing, boating and football. He was a member of the Methodist church.

Ed “always liked to laugh about everything. He was a good person and helped all that came to ask him,” wrote his family. He will be very missed by his family and many friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Shania Tillman, of Lake Havasu, Ariz., his mother, Linda Rauh of Homer, sisters Vicki Johnson, Lisa Hanson and Diana Rauh, all of Homer; and brothers, Jason Dixon of Hemet, Calif., and Matt Rauh and Glenn Rauh, both of Homer.
