Homer hosted Kodiak Friday and Saturday for conference games. The Mariners beat out the Bears 4-1 on Friday but fell to the visiting team on Saturday.

The visiting Bears got a hat trick from Miles Grimes in getting the Saturday win in the Northern Lights Conference.

Kodiak is now 1-9 and 1-3, while Homer is 1-7 and 1-2.

Also scoring for Kodiak were Marek Wyszkowski, Kieran Hayden, Rylee Otto, Thomas Hazlett and Collin Gibbs.

Zane Barth and Walden Kraseski scored for Homer, which fell behind 4-0.

Garrett Wood had 21 saves for the Bears, while Reace Brothers stopped 16 for the Mariners.

The Mariners come back to the ice on Jan. 10-11 and will host Juneau-Douglas at Kevin Bell Arena.
