Nutcracker Faire opens with array of vendors

In addition to the opening “Nutcracker” stage performances, Homer Council on the Arts is again hosting organization of the annual Nutcracker Faire. This event is a venue of approximately 60 vendors selling artistic products in the Homer High School commons and gymnasium. There will also be 10 food vendors available.

The event will open at 11 a.m. on Dec. 7 and close at 7:30 p.m. On Sunday, the event will run from noon until 5 p.m. In addition to the vendors, there will be musical performances provided on the commons stage.

View Homer Council on the Arts website (www.homerart.org) to see the full list of vendors and the range of products including jewelry, candles, recycled clothing products, garden and flower items, teas and tinctures, handmade toys, woodworks, drawings, maps, paintings and more. The event strives to promote items unique to Kenai Peninsula artisans and encourage Homer residents to purchase locally crafted gifts for the holiday season.

As of Tuesday, the council was still seeking musicians interested in performing at the two-day event. Application details are also available on the website.
