This year’s Alaska Permanent Fund dividend will total $1,702 and begin to be distributed on Oct. 3, according to a Thursday release from the State Department of Revenue.
That amount, the release says, includes a traditional permanent fund dividend totaling $1,403.83, supplemented by a one-time energy relief payment of $298.17.
A total of $914,315,845 was allocated for distribution by the Alaska Legislature, the release says, and more than 600,000 “have already been determined eligible.”
People who filed electronically and requested direct deposit will see payment disbursed on Oct. 3, the release says. Others, such as those requesting check payments, will receive the dividend on Oct. 26.
“This is the 43rd year Alaskans have received their share of the state’s natural resources and investment earnings. The 2024 PFD will create an economic opportunity across all of our local communities,” says Department Commissioner Adam Crum in the release. “I want to thank and recognize the Governor and the Legislature for their commitment and continued support to Alaskans in providing the energy relief payment during a time of rising energy costs and high inflation.”
