Feb. 8

Alaska State Troopers at 7:12 p.m. received a report of a disturbance in Voznesenka. Troopers said a 40-year-old Voznesenka man threatened to kill an underage family member and burn down his house. While troopers were attempting to locate the man, trooper dispatch received a second complaint in the area that the same man entered a house uninvited and threatened to kill the occupants and burn down that house as well. Troopers arrested the man without incident. 

Troopers at 11:17 p.m. went to a car crash near Mile 155 Sterling Highway in Anchor Point. Troopers said a 33-year-old Homer woman driving a 2005 Dodge Durango lost control on a patch of ice. The car left the road and rolled into the ditch and onto private property. The woman wore her seat belt. Troopers said speed was a factor in the crash and that alcohol was not a factor.

Feb. 9

Troopers at 12:14 a.m. went to a report of a disturbance at Cape Ninilchik home in Anchor Point. Troopers said a 46-year-old Anchor Point man assaulted someone at the residence. Troopers arrested the man for fourth-degree assault and took him to the Homer Jail.

Troopers at 12:58 a.m. contacted a 33-year-old Nanwalek woman at her home and arrested her on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of driving without a license.

Feb. 10

Troopers at 4:20 a.m. received a report of a man at South Peninsula Hospital with serious but non life-threatening gunshot wounds. Troopers said the man had been shot multiple times with a shotgun at a home on Valleyside Avenue in Anchor Point. Troopers located the suspect, a 45-year-old Anchor Point man, and arrested him without incident on charges of first-degree assault, second-degree assault and third-degree assault.

Troopers at 9:14 a.m. received a report of a theft from a Connex container at a residence near the Sterling Highway in Anchor Point. The complainant reported various power saws and other shop tools were stolen. A gas powered snow blower also was stolen. The container did not appear to be forcefully opened and the theft was believed to have been between October and February. Feb. 12

Troopers at 8 a.m. received a report of a possible conditions of release violation in Ninilchik. The caller said a 33-year-old Ninilchik woman lived at a Ninilchik home in violation of her conditions of release. Troopers said the woman was at a residence belonging to a victim of an assault troopers alleged the woman had committed. The victim was present at the time Troopers arrived. The woman had conditions of release from the assault case which prohibited her from being in contact with the victim and being at the residence. Troopers found the woman hiding in a closet and arrested her.
