The Soldotna girls and Kenai boys won the Kenai Peninsula Borough Ski Meet on Saturday.

Soldotna’s Tania Boonstra led the girls 5-kilometer freestyle with a 13 minute and 29 second finish. She was followed exactly a minute later by teammate Ariana Cannava at 14:39, the top three closed out by another Stars skier, Kara Veideffer, at 14:36.

Daisy Walker was the top finisher for the Homer girls at 14:49, good for fourth. Isla Crouse, for Kenai, was sixth at 15:45. Seward’s Katie Van Buskirk was 12th at 17:13.

Brothers Chase and Jack Laker, for Kenai, posted the top two times for the boys 5-kilometer freestyle. Chase finished at 11:36, Jack at 11:48. The pair were closely followed by Homer’s Jody Goodrich, who closed out the top three at 11:56.

Parker Richards was fifth for Soldotna at 12:04. Philip Trobaugh was 23rd for Seward at 15:51.
