Marlene Jayne Helm
August 20, 1952 – January 15, 2024
Marlene (Marly) Jayne (Helminiak) Helm, age 71, passed away on January 15, 2024 at her home in Tucson, Arizona with her caring husband, Alan Brause at her side. Marlene was born In Stevens Point to Louis E. Helminiak and El Jane (Mrozinski) Helminiak on August 20, 1952. Marlene was an avid reader, adventurous, creative, educated, generous, independent woman who was always up for any challenge. She had her mother’s gift for baking, her father’s talent for gardening and Alan’s tenacity for biking. She married Alan Brause, in Homer, Alaska on September 14, 1991 in a small ceremony, in their home over-looking Kachemak Bay, Homer, Alaska. The ceremony was officiated by Alan’s father, The Reverent Floyd Brause. She is survived by her sisters, Marilyn (Helminiak)) Helm and Marian (Helminiak) Helm and her brother Mark Helminiak. Marlene’s primary care provider through her sudden battle with invasive cancer was her loving husband Alan. The family would like to thank Alan for his warm, gentle, comforting attention to her every need. There will be no service but her family plans a Celebration of her Life this Summer with family and close friends. Marlene was cremated and had asked that Alan spread her ashes on the Pacific Ocean. The family would like to thank all her cousins, friends and former classmates for their support and condolences. We invite you to make a donation, in her name, to: Friends of The Pima County Public Library, 2230 N Country Club Rd., Tucson, AZ 85716. She will be missed very much by so many. Rest in Peace, Dear Sister.
