Homer’s Pratt Museum welcomes new executive director

On Monday, the Board of Directors at the Pratt Museum in Homer announced a new incoming executive director. Patricia Relay will join the Pratt starting in July.

Relay comes to Homer from the Valdez Museum and Historical Archive in Valdez, where she has served as the executive director since 2010.

Her staff statement from the Valdez Museum website states that “she has a lifelong love of museums and cultural organizations and she believes that museums and galleries are much more than places to store relics and artifacts. Museums serve as vital community resources that provide gathering places where thoughtful exhibits and educational opportunities co-exist, bringing communities together to learn, to play, and to delight in.”

The Pratt Museum Board of Directors said in a statement provided to the Homer News that they look forward to her arrival and introducing her to the community.

“Relay has many career accomplishments based on the belief that cultural resources, the humanities, and the arts enrich people’s lives and build strong communities,” they said.
