A coalition of community organizations will host on Saturday a public conversation on the current housing shortage in Homer, the Homer Chamber of Commerce announced in a March 13 press release.
Supported by the South Peninsula Hospital Foundation, Kenai Peninsula Economic Development District, Homer Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center, Choosing Our Roots, MAPP, and the City of Homer, the meeting will discuss the results of two surveys aimed at measuring the scope of housing issues in the greater Homer area. One survey is geared toward community housing and the other focuses on employer housing.
The surveys can be found at http://www.ddaalaska.com/homer-housing-solutions.
Also on the agenda are workshops on priorities, solutions and next steps, according to the survey website.
The meeting will be held at Christian Community Church at 3838 Bartlett Street. Doors open at 9 a.m. and the event is expected to run from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
