Western Emergency Services
Pet Oxygen Masks on Board
On Mar. 8, Western Emergency Services was equipped with two pet breathing systems supplied by the Invisible Fence Company though Project Breathe. This equipment gives the department the ability to properly provide oxygen to pets who are rescued from a fire by properly supplying them oxygen and, if need be, pet CPR, in the hopes of resuscitating them if possible. These kits consist of three different-sized pet oxygen masks, oxygen tubing, and an instruction card for use as well as pet CPR. The department has placed these kits on the primary fire engine in both the Anchor Point and Ninilchik fire stations. Western Emergency Services response area covers part of Clam Gulch, Ninilchik, Happy Valley, Nikolaevsk, and the Anchor Point area. Thanks to the Invisible Fence Company for their donation.
