Theresa Marie Bush, better known as Terry to all who knew and loved her, passed away unexpectedly on December 27, 2022.
Terry was born on July 19, 1958 to Jackson and Erna Bush, in Japan; where her father was a career soldier in the U.S. Army. Terry’s entrance to the world during a typhoon started a unique and intriguing life. With each cut of orders, Terry’s life expanded to Hawaii, Georgia, North Carolina and then on to Green Bay, Wisconsin where the family put down roots when her father received orders for Viet Nam.
When Terry’s education in Green Bay was completed, she moved on to complete her Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and then her Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Medicine from the University of Washington. From college graduation her traveling boots were on as she accepted jobs in Illinois, Colorado, Washington, Oregon and finally her happy spot, her move to Alaska. She practiced her vocation in Ketchikan, Anchorage, Seward and Homer,
Terry was always happiest with her dogs, camping, kayaking and fishing and her love of Thai food. The spicier the better for her. She had a wicked sense of humor and love of family.
Terry is survived by her sister, Veronica (Roni), brothers, Bill and Mike.
The family would like to express their thanks to Tory Rockefeller of Homer Hounds, Kirsten Bell, of The Good Life, the Homer Police Department and Conifer Woods Apartments for their care of Terry and her dog, Yuma.
We will miss her immensely and are hoping that she is at the Rainbow Bridge with all her dogs.
