A driver with the Homer Racing Association races around a plowed track on the frozen Beluga Lake on Saturday. Because of a lack of snow to create sufficiently sized safety berms on the ice track, the ice racing event scheduled after the Winter Carnival parade was scaled down. Racers sped around the track individually or racing in pairs.
