Bunnell Street Arts Center has received a $15,000 grant from the Paul Allen Family Foundation to support Bunnell’s visual arts exhibit program. The grant helps sustain Bunnell’s gallery program of presenting sold and group shows of Alaska artists.

“Paul G. Allen Foundation’s grant strengthens and sustains Bunnell’s exhibit program exhibition program as a lightning rod for artists from around the state to cultivate their studio practice,” said Bunnell executive and artistic director Asia Freeman. “Through this work, Bunnell engages Alaska’s diverse and widespread artistic community by exploring new ways to survive and thrive as creative visionaries living in geographically distinct landscapes.”

“The goal of our grants is to create meaningful changes in communities by partnering with exceptional organizations and leaders who are bold enough to reinvent the world,” said Susan M. Coliton, vice president of The Paul G. Allen Family Foundation. “We are excited to partner with Bunnell Street Arts Center and support their initiatives to drive meaningful impact in their community.”

The grant is one of 53 grants and $6.28 million awarded by the Paul Allen Foundation in its latest awards cycle. Since 1998, the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation has invested nearly a half billion dollars into improving communities throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
