Diane Frost Wick
Nov. 30, 1929 – Feb. 15, 2022
Diane Frost Wick, age 92, of Homer, Alaska, passed away Feb. 15, 2022 in South Peninsula Hospital in Homer after a brief battle with leukemia.
Diane was born on Nov. 30, 1929 in Pasadena, California, the daughter of Katherine D. and Jerome S. Frost. She grew up in Wayzata, Minnesota, before meeting her lifelong friend and partner in Alaska. She married Donald D. Wick on Aug. 26, 1955. They spent many years in Anchorage and Halibut Cove, Alaska and winters in Palm Springs, California before moving to Homer.
Diane enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, be it camping, skiing, water aerobics, or traveling the states. She spent many hours reading, knitting and canning the fish her husband caught. Her friends in Palm Springs will remember her as the lady by the pool who coordinated the color of her fly swatter and sun visor with that day’s bathing suit.
She is predeceased by her parents, brother (Dal) and husband and survived by her son Daniel Q. Wick and daughter-in-law Janet Mayforth of Homer and daughter Susan N. Wick and son-in-law Brook Jacobs of Willow, Alaska.
No services will be held. Her ashes will be combined with her husband’s and scattered at one of their favorite camping and fishing locales.
