Anna Creasey

Lifelong Alaskan Anna Creasey, 93, passed away Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022 at Central Peninsula Hospital.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, at Calvary Baptist Church in Kenai. Pastor Phil Reemstma will officiate.

Anna was born Sept. 14, 1928 in Point Lay, Alaska. She graduated from high school/boarding school at age 16. She lived in Fairbanks, Homer, Kenai, Point Lay, Shishmaref, Kotzebue and White Mountain. She worked for the State of Alaska Court System as a Clerk of Courts and Magistrate for 26 years before retiring in Homer.

Anna was a member of Glacierview Baptist Church in Homer and Calvary Baptist Church in Kenai. She was also active at times in the Coast Guard Auxiliary, American Legion and Pioneers of Alaska.

She loved her family, baking, fishing, camping, traveling and reading.

Her family wrote, “What a legacy this wonderful woman has left behind. She was known as daughter, sister, auntie, mom and friend and to many Grandma, Gram Gram, Gramberry, and most recently named Soft Grandma by her great-granddaughter, Kassi, who is vision impaired and knew her by her voice and feel. Most of the great-grandkids adopted the term Soft Grandma.”

“Mom loved the water. She would be happy on the shore of a lake, river or ocean. She always wanted to be near the water. She loved traveling. Mom and Dad spent many years traveling the country in their RV, a month every year in Maui, and exploring new places. She was in her element fishing on a boat with her husband of 43 years, Ron. She loved her family most of all. Her biggest joy was having a houseful of her family around her.”

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Clara Forslund; husband, Ron; son, Tommy Thompson; daughter Theresa Leavitt; son, Clint Creasey; and a whole bunch of other people after 93 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Fredricka Thompson, of Soldotna; son, Robert Thompson, of Homer; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Roger Johnson, of Kenai; and numerous, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends.

Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
