Best Western still undefeated

The Best Western Riptide remain undefeated as they crushed the Gregoire Construction Smooth Operators (74-38) in Homer Community Schools City League Basketball action.

Austin McAvoy scored 26 points for the victors. Heath Johnson had 16 for the Smooth Ops. Alaska Bible Institute held their fourth quarter lead, defeating the Home-Run Oil Titans (53-44). Eric Rozeboom led the scoring for ABI with 15 points. Patrick Schilling led the Titans with 13 points, while Keith Edens pitched in 12. The Bulletproof Nets overcame a double-digit deficit in the second half against team K-12, squeezing by for the win (52-51). Dyllan Day scored 21 points and led the comeback through his three point shot. Paul Story scored 18 for K-12.

Games are held every Monday night at the Homer Middle School at 6, 7:15 and 8 p.m.
