Linda Faye Jolly

On Friday, October 8, 2021, Linda, loving wife and mother, passed away at the age of 77 in Homer, Alaska.
Linda was born Aug. 15, 1944 in Hastings, Nebraska to Morris and Margaret Eileen (Carder) Hyde. She was the second of four children.
On Feb. 17, 1962, Linda married David Jolly, of Prosser, Nebraska, son of Edward and Sophia (Wicht) Jolly. Together they raised two children, Craig and Cheryl.
Linda and David were part owners of Jolly Cycle Center in Hastings until 1973 when the family moved to Tucson, Arizona. While living in Tucson, they opened Ace Cycle and Gas Station. Then once again, in April 1976, the family packed up and moved to Anchor Point, Alaska.
Linda worked for the Anchor River Inn for over 15 years as a bartender and finally manager. In the early 1990’s, she took classes and received her CNA license. After receiving her license, she worked for South Peninsula Hospital in the Long Term Care Department for over 18 years until her retirement.
Linda enjoyed reading, gardening, playing poker, traveling, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was married for 53 years to her beloved David until his passing in May of 2015.
Linda is survived by her daughter Cheryl, of Anchor Point, Alaska; grandchildren Katie Jolly of San Antonio, Texas, David Jolly of Anchor Point, Alaska, Garrett Cooper-Jolly of Anchor Point, Alaska, Jessica Llata of Colorado, Forrest Smith of Japan, Megan Jolly of California; and five great grandchildren. Linda is also survived by her brother Fred and Barb Hyde of Hastings, Nebraska, sister-in-law Janet Hyde of Omaha, Nebraska, and Ed and Betty Jolly of Kamiah, Idaho.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband David, son Craig, parents Morris Hyder and Eileen Schafer, brother Richard and sister Dixie Mosel of Chicago, Illinois.
A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, Oct. 23 at 4 p.m. at the VFW in Anchor Point at 72551 Milo Fritz Ave. Please come with your memories and stories, silly or serious, and a side dish to share.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 4 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Homer at 255 Ohlson Lane.
A burial service will be held in Juniata, Nebraska in the spring of 2022.
