Firefighters and emergency medical technicians went to two medical calls and one fire call.
Jan. 31
Kachemak Emergency Services responded to a structure fire on Star Court off of Diamond Ridge Road. Upon arrival flames and heavy smoke were coming from the front of a two-story cabin. Firefighters were able to control the fire quickly; however there was heavy damage to the first floor interior of the structure. The cause is undetermined at this time. Homer and Anchor Point responded to assist.

Jan. 30
A caller at 4:07 p.m. reported a fraudulent purchase.
A person at 5:11 p.m. made a 911 call of a vehicle in the ditch on Fairview Avenue. Police responded and helped get the vehicle out of the ditch.
Jan. 31
A caller at 5:31 a.m. reported a driver in a vehicle hit a barrier wall on Grubstake Avenue.
A caller at 10:36 a.m. reported a car stolen from a Main Street address.
An officer at 11:09 a.m. reported a large pothole on Pioneer Avenue near Greatland Street. Police notified state road crews.
A woman at 1:20 p.m. came to the police station and reported being harassed.
A man at 1:36 p.m. turned in at the station keys he found.
A caller at 2:30 p.m. reported identity theft.
A caller at 2:55 p.m. reporting losing a wallet and then later finding the wallet.
A caller at 3:14 p.m. reported a wanted subject walking toward Lake Street. Police responded but did not find the person.
Feb. 1
A person at 1:26 a.m. reported seeing an unusual light in the Fairview Avenue area. Police responded but did not see anything unusual.
A caller at 9:50 a.m. reported a driver in a vehicle hit a guard rail and crashed into the caller’s yard on East End Road near Meadow Drive.
A caller at 11:06 a.m. reported a hit-and-run crash on Shellfish Avenue.
A person at 1 p.m. made a 911 call reporting threats at an East End Road address. Police responded and took a person into protective custody.
A woman at 4:42 p.m. turned in a found cell phone at the police station. Police contacted the phone’s owner and the owner picked it up.
Feb. 2
A caller at 4:48 a.m. reported a theft from a Main Street address.
A caller at 7:37 a.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a person at a Pioneer Avenue address. Police responded and found all was OK.
A caller at 7:49 a.m. reported a driver crossed the center line on East End Road. Police responded.
A caller at 10:30 a.m. reported a problem with a house guest at a Lynn Way address. Police determined it was a civil issue and advised the caller of options.
A woman at 5:53 p.m. reported a person in a car threw something at her while she rode her bike on East End Road.
Feb. 3
A caller at 7:47 a.m. reported a suspicious person in the Latham Avenue area.
A caller at 8:46 a.m. reported a domestic dispute at a Tamara Street home. Police responded and arrested a 31-year-old woman for assault.
A person at 6:55 p.m. made a 911 call of a disturbance at a Sterling Highway address. Police responded.
A caller at 7:16 p.m. reported a strange man inside a Lincoln Drive home that could be related to an online scam. Police responded and arrested a 46-year-old man on an outstanding warrant.
Feb. 4
A caller at 7:10 a.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a woman at a Pioneer Avenue address. Police responded. A friend of the woman picked her up. All was OK.
A caller at 10:28 a.m. asked police to speak to an officer regarding a civil issue. Police advised the caller of options and issued trespass notices to people from an Ocean Drive property.
A caller at 4:33 p.m. reported a disturbance at a Klondike Avenue apartment. Police responded and found all was OK. The person had left the area.
A caller at 6:07 p.m. reported a civil issue regarding sale of a vehicle. Police advised the caller of options.
A caller at 6:45 p.m. reported a lost dog near Bishop’s Beach. The dog was reunited with its owner.
A caller at 9:51 a.m. reported a strong smell of natural gas in the Rochelle Road and Shannon Lane area. Police notified Enstar Natural Gas.
A person at 1:13 p.m. reported a child playing in the road on Main Street near Lee Drive. Police responded and returned the child home to the child’s parents.
Feb. 5
A caller at 3:21 p.m. reported a drunk woman on Pioneer Avenue. A second caller reported the woman fell on ice. Police and medics responded and took the woman to South Peninsula Hospital.
A caller at 6:33 p.m. reported someone shot off fireworks in the Sprucewood Drive area. Police responded and warned the people shooting fireworks of city ordinances prohibiting fireworks.
Feb. 6
A caller at 10:15 a.m. reported possible identity theft.
A caller at 11:55 a.m. reported moose in the back yard on Rainbow Place.
Troopers
Jan. 28
Alaska State Troopers at 2:53 p.m. went to a report of a single vehicle rollover near Mile 159 Sterling Highway in Anchor Point. When troopers arrived, they found three more vehicles were involved in the initial crash. A 61-year-old Anchor Point woman driving a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck lost control on icy roads and rolled her truck onto its top into the ditch. A 28-year-old Homer woman stopped to provide assistance and a 74-year-old Ninilchik woman drove by the other two vehicles. A 25-year-old Anchor Point woman tried to pass between the Homer and Ninilchik drivers’ vehiciles when she hit both vehicles and went into the ditch by the Toyota truck. Everyone wore seatbelts and no one suffered injuries.
Jan. 28
Troopers at11:33 a.m. went to a report of an assault at an Anchor Point home. Troopers said a 47-year-old Anchor Point man assaulted his girlfriend during an argument. Troopers arrested the man. Troopers said alcohol was involved.

Andrea M. Vanbuskirk, 34, charge dismissed, fourth-degree theft.
Elias J. Graham, 19, charge dismissed, fourth-degree theft.
Torlend J. Flyum, 45, charge dismissed, second-degree burglary. He pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal mischief. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 20 days suspended; ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund and a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended; ordered to apply for an Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend and pay restitution in an amount to be determined; ordered to forfeit items seized and assign PFD to pay for fines, surcharges and restitution; ordered not to have contact with the Homer GCI store; and was placed on probation for one year.
Teddy C. Beamis, 60, Soldotna, charge dismissed, limitation of halibut. He pleaded guilty to failure to present for inspection all fish possessed. He was fined $3,000; ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund; and had his huntng license revoked for two years and his fishing license revoked for one year.
