Homer Police
Feb. 5
Homer Police got multiple calls at 8:13 a.m. regarding a dangerous driver who had caused an accident. Officers responded and arrested a 22-year-old Kenai man for leaving the scene of an accident and violating conditions of release.
Homer Police got a report at 4:14 p.m. of a vehicle passing a school bus while its red lights were activated. Following investigation, police issued a summons to a 21-year-old Homer woman for failure to stop for a school bus. She was released from the scene.
Feb. 8
A 32-year-old Wasilla man turned himself in to the Homer Police at 11:27 a.m. for an outstanding Anchorage Alaska State Troopers warrant for failing to appear in court on an original charge of a petition to revoke probation on a driving under the influence charge.
Homer Police responded to a Homer residence for a requested welfare check at approximately 8:57 a.m. Officers found a 26-year-old woman from Kodiak was dead. Her body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. No foul play is suspected. Next of kin has been notified.
Feb. 10
Homer Police responded to a request for a welfare check at 12:35 a.m. Officers contacted a 30-year-old Homer man, who they arrested for violating conditions of release. He was remanded to the Homer Jail.
Homer Police responded to a home for a disturbance at 6:15 p.m. As a result, the same 30-year-old Homer man from the previous entry was arrested for violating conditions of release and third-degree assault. He was remanded to the Homer Jail.
Feb. 11
Homer Police responded to a report at a residence in Homer at 9:53 a.m. Officers responded and found that a 74-yaer-old Homer had died. His body was sent to the State Medical Examiners Officer for an autopsy. No foul play is suspected. Next of kin has been notified.
Feb. 14
Homer Police got a report of a vehicle collision at 2:34 p.m. Officers went to the scene and arrested a 36-year-old Homer man for tampering with physical evidence, driving under the influence, refusing a chemical test, two counts of reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, fourth-degree assault and criminal mischief. He was taken to South Peninsula Hospital to be treated for injuries from the collision.
Homer Police got a report from Alaska State Troopers at 11:40 p.m. that an assault had occurred in Homer earlier in the evening. Officers contacted and arrested a 37-year-old Anchorage woman for domestic violence-related fourth-degree assault and violating probation. She was remanded to the Homer Jail.
Troopers
Feb. 8
At 2:46 p.m., Alaska State Troopers came upon a vehicle in the ditch on North Fork Road near Kinney Lane in Anchor Point. The driver of the vehicle was a 38-year-old Anchor Point man. A records check showed that his driver’s license was in suspended status. The man was given a summons to appear in court and released.
Feb. 9
Alaska State Troopers and Alaska Wildlife Troopers responded to a residence in Seldovia after a report of an assault. The Seldovia Police Chief requested AST assistance in investigating the assault as the chief was out of town. An investigation showed that a 42-year-old Seldovia man had assaulted a family member. He was arrested and remanded into the Homer Jail.
