For the second year, Project Homeless Connect will take place in the Homer area.
The event that connects those experiencing homelessness, or near homelessness, to supplies and resources has been ongoing in the central peninsula for years, and expanded to Homer last year.
This year, the one-day event will be held in both Homer and Anchor Point from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27. Free transportation will be available for those who need this service.
The Homer location is Homer Community Food Pantry at Homer United Methodist Church at 770 E. End Road while the Anchor Point location is the Anchor Point Food Pantry at Greatland Worship Center on School Street.
Attendees will be able to get free supplies including backpacks, sleeping bags, food to go, hygiene kits, laundry/shower vouchers and more. Project Homeless Connect is also an opportunity for people to get connected to housing, medical and food resources.
Masks will be required at the event, and will be available for those who need them.
