Homer Flex School has released its September winner of the award given out to students who best display the school’s values.
Junior Anden Fowler has won September’s Homer Flex Phoenix Award, according to a release from the school.
“Anden always has a smile and a kind word, whether at school or out in the Homer community,” wrote school counselor Ingrid Harrald. “Anden is a compassionate, caring friend and student. He sees the big picture and is always looking for ways to improve the Flex Community.”
“He also volunteers his time to advocate for teens at community groups such as Youth Homeless Prevention Project,” Harrald wrote. “Anden is a thoughtful humanitarian that does his best to enhance the environment for those around him. He often spends more time thinking about and caring for others than he does for himself. He is a young man that knows what it means to serve his community.”
