Homer to host first ever End of the Road Pickleball Tournament

The inaugural End of the Road Pickleball Tournament and Clinics will be held this coming Monday through Saturday at Homer High School.

Sponsored by Pickleball in Great and the Homer Community Recreation program, the tournament is expected to draw players from both Alaska and the Lower 48.

Round Robin Tournament

The round robin skill divisions are limited to six teams each. Skills 2.5 and 3.0 will be combined and skills 4.5 and 5.0 will be combined. After five rounds of games to 15 points (win by 1), the top two teams in each skill event will compete for gold and silver medals in a best of three games to 11, win by 2.

Wednesday, June 27 – Women’s Doubles

Thursday, June 28 – Men’s Doubles (may also play on Friday)

Friday, June 29 – Mixed Doubles Saturday, June 30 – Mixed Doubles

Tournament organizers are limited by court space to three events each day. Expect the tournament director to adjust brackets as needed to ensure the most competitive play possible.

Pickleball Clinics

Instructors Mike Wolfe, Christie Getsvang and Donna Quaife will also provide clinics to those who are registered. They range from beginner lessons to intermediate.

There are also private lessons available for $75 for up to four players of similar skills (times to be determined).
