This is part of a monthly series of classes, each progressively focusing on different aspects of drawing and skill development. Classes will explore the versatility of the different drawing mediums, from charcoal to pencil to colored pencils. Utilizing simple still-life and references, Pettibone will lecture, demonstrate and teach one-on-one, taking the students through the different steps towards the development of a finished drawing. BEST TUNES BET: Jacques Longpre is celebrating his recent CD with a CD release concert at 7:30 p.m. this Saturday at Bunnell Street Arts Center. Longpre is an Alaska singer-songwriter, combining elements folk and country music with punk and grunge. Originally from Bush Alaska, Jacques now resides in Homer. His first full-length album, “Broken Strings” is an intimate collection of songs written over the last 10 years. Suggested admission is $15.

BEST HEART RACING BET: Want to get your heart racing? Head out for some ice racing on Beluga Lake! This fun event is held every weekend and is free to attend. Ice races start at 12:30 p.m. this Sunday on the lake.
