Oct. 29

A caller at 12:39 p.m. reported two minors smoking marijuana on Ben Walters Lane. An officer went to the area but didn’t find them.

A caller at 1:42 p.m. reported that a neighbor on Main Street had a small black bear in a tree. An officer went to the area and the bear was already gone.

An officer at 2 p.m. stopped a driver at Pioneer Avenue and Main Street and performed a drug investigation.

A caller at 2:08 p.m. reported an elderly woman who possibly needed help on the Sterling Highway. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 5:18 p.m. reported a verbal disturbance on Main Street. Officers responded and found the report was unfounded.

A caller at 10:05 p.m. reported getting threatening/harassing communications from someone on Tamara Street. An officer contacted the people involved and arrested a 41-year-old man for fourth-degree assault. The man was taken to the Homer Jail.

A caller at 10:22 p.m. reported a disturbance near their home on Soundview Avenue. An officer responded but didn’t find any disturbance.

Oct. 30

A caller at 12:26 a.m. reported a building alarm on Ohlson Lane. An officer went to the location.

A caller at 7:42 a.m. reported a vehicle in the ditch on Ben Walters Lane. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 8:06 a.m. reported there were horses walking in the roadway at West Hill Road and the Sterling Highway. An officer went to the area.

A caller at 10:15 a.m. reported a person trespassing on private property on Main Street. An officer went to the area but wasn’t able to find anyone on the property.

A caller at 11:51 a.m. reported a man looking into cars on Homer Bypass Road. An officer went to the area and didn’t find anyone looking into cars.

A caller at 12:46 p.m. requested police assistance in documenting damage on West Pioneer Avenue. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 3 p.m. reported two people shoplifting in a store on Lake Street. An officer went to the scene and arrested a 20-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man for theft and issued them advisements to keep them from trespassing at the location.

A caller at 5:35 p.m. reported an intoxicated man had driven to a location on East End Road and was attempted to drive away. An officer went to the scene and arrested the 36-year-old man for driving under the influence, refusing to take a breath test and misconduct involving weapons.

A caller at 8:08 p.m. made a Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately (REDDI) report on a vehicle on Homer Bypass Road. An officer responded but didn’t find the vehicle.

Oct. 31

An officer at 11:47 a.m. tried to serve a warrant on East Pioneer Avenue but wasn’t able to locate the person it was for.

An officer at 4:48 p.m. provided traffic control for trick or treating at Main Street and Bay View Avenue.

A caller at 4:51 p.m. reported suspicious activity at a home on Main Street. An officer went to the location.

A caller at 6:56 p.m. reported that a vehicle pulled out in front of them and then the driver slammed on their brakes. An officer contacted that driver at East End Road and Kachemak Drive and didn’t detect any impairment.

A caller at 6:10 p.m. reported a stray dog hanging around outside a business on Homer Bypass Road. An officer placed the dog in the shelter for the night. The owner later claimed it.

An officer at 9:42 p.m. warned a driver for speeding at Glen View Court and the Sterling Highway.

An officer at 10:28 p.m. warned a driver for not having insurance at Heath Street and Pioneer Avenue.

Nov. 1

An officer at 12:02 a.m. gave a drier a DUI warning at Glen View Court and the Sterling Highway.

A caller at 12:09 a.m. asked that a man be trespassed from a business on Shelford Street for life. An officer went to the scene and contacted the man.

An officer at 1:30 a.m. issued a traffic warning to a driver at Ben Walters Lane and East End Road.

A caller at 8:39 a.m. made a REDDI report on an aggressive driver inbound to Homer. An officer responded to Mile 168 Sterling Highway but didn’t locate the driver.

A caller at 1:34 p.m. reported a man slumped over the wheel of a running vehicle on Jack Gist Lane. An officer went to the location and found everything was OK. The man was sleeping in the vehicle and the officer told him to move along.

A person at 2:02 p.m. went to the police station to report getting harassing text messages. An officer advised the person of their options and also served a restraining order on a subject.

A person at 3:51 p.m. went to the police station to report a possible break in attempt on her vehicle on Grubstake Avenue. An officer took a report.

A caller at 5:50 p.m. reported that an unknown vehicle had hit her parked vehicle on West Danview Avenue. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 8:31 p.m. requested a welfare check on a woman on Main Street. An officer went to the scene and contacted the woman. The officer found everything was OK.

An officer at 10:09 p.m. investigated an abandoned vehicle in the roadway at Homer Spit Road and Kachemak Drive. The vehicle was impounded.

Nov. 2

A caller at 2:14 p.m. made a REDDI report on a driver at Mile 168 Sterling Highway. An officer responded, contacted the driver and didn’t note any impairment.

A caller at 4:04 p.m. requested that a welfare check be made on children on Early Spring Street. An officer responded and checked on the children, and found everything was OK.

A caller at 5:35 p.m. reported a woman having mental health issues on Main Street. An officer went to the scene. The woman was taken to South Peninsula Hospital.

A caller at 6:02 p.m. reported a hit and run in a parking lot on East Pioneer Avenue. Officers were all on another call at the time and were later advised. An officer went to the scene and it’s under investigation.

An officer at 7:35 p.m. advised a driver that their license was revoked at Main Street and Pioneer Avenue.

Nov. 3

An officer at 1:04 a.m. contacted a man on Shelford Street and served him an arrest warrant. The 46-year-old man was taken to the Homer Jail.

A caller at 12:05 p.m. reported a domestic disturbance on Early Spring Street. An officer went to the scene and arrested a 26-year-old man for domestic violence-related assault and interfering with a domestic violence report.

A caller at 12:55 p.m. reported a man on Hazel Avenue had a gun. Officers and medics went to the location and the intoxicated man was taken to South Peninsula Hospital for medical clearance. He was then arrested for misconduct involving weapons and taken to the Homer Jail.

A caller at 12:57 p.m. reported a disturbance at a hockey game on Spit Road. Officers went to the scene.

A caller at 4:28 p.m. reported possibly hearing gunfire on Mattox Road. An officer wasn’t able to find anything suspicious.

A caller at 9:19 p.m. reported a woman in distress on Rangeview Avenue. An officer went to the area.

A callera t 11:51 p.m. reported a woman trespassing on Homer Bypass Road. An officer went to the scene and issued the 36-year-old woman a summons for trespassing.

Nov. 4

An officer at 5:10 p.m. served a man with a domestic violence protective order on Heath Street.

A caller at 5:18 p.m. reported a domestic dispute on East Hill Road. Officers went to the scene.

Troopers

Oct. 29

Alaska State Troopers at approximately 9:46 p.m. received a call about an intoxicated individual damaging property at a residence on Skyline Drive. Troopers responded, and subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of a 29-year-old Homer man for one count of third-degree domestic violence-related criminal mischief, two counts of fourth-degree domestic violence-related assault and one count of violating conditions of release. The man was transported to the Homer Jail for remand.

Nov. 3

On November 3rd, 2019 at approximately 1850 hours, the Alaska State Troopers (AST) received a call from Ramona Jorgensen who advised her friend, Logan Lucas, was intoxicated at her residence and causing a disturbance. AST responded to the residence and conducted an investigation. Subsequent investigation resulted in the arrests of Logan Lucas, age 25 of Anchor Point, for one count of Violating Conditions of Release, and Iris Strongheart, age 20 of Anchor Point, for one count of Domestic Violence Criminal Mischief in the 5th Degree. Logan and Iris were transported to the Homer Jail for remand.

Nov. 4

On 11/4/19 at 2006 hours, Troopers responded to a residence near mile 22 East End Road in Voznesenka for a disturbance. An investigation showed Mark Basargin, 34 of Voznesenka, had damaged a family members property during an argument. Basargin was arrested and transported to the Homer Jail where he was remanded pending arraignment.
