A caller at 5:28 p.m. reported a suspicious man who had approached a car on Beluga Place near Bishop’s Beach. The man later left the area.
A caller at 8:19 p.m. reported a possibly abandoned vehicle in the woods at Poop Deck Trail and Hazel Avenue. An officer went to the area but didn’t find it.
An officer at 9:17 p.m. issued a traffic warning to a driver for their speed at Mile 169 Sterling Highway.
Jan. 27
A caller at 1:27 a.m. reported suspicious activity on Shelford Street. Officers responded and arrested one 46-year-old woman for trespassing.
A person at 7:18 p.m. went to the police station to report they were getting unwanted text messages. An officer advised the person of their options. A second person requested a welfare check and an officer contacted the person in question.
An officer at 7:38 p.m. gave a driver a citation at Lake Street and Grubstake Avenue for driving with their license suspended.
An officer at 8:55 p.m. gave a driver a citation at Lake Street for driving with their license suspended.
A caller at 9:11 p.m. reported a disturbance at Main Street and Bunnell Avenue. An officer responded.

An officer at 12:51 a.m. inspected a suspicious vehicle on FAA Road.
A caller at 10:11 a.m. reported a stolen vehicle from Elderberry Drive. The vehicle was recovered in the Homer area.
A caller at 11:55 a.m. requested a person be given a trespass notice to be kept from a home on Whispering Meadows Avenue. An officer provided the caller with options.
A caller at 2:14 p.m. reported having hit a parked car on Ben Walters Lane and said they were not able to contact its owner. The officer was advised and the caller left their contact information on the car.
A caller at 7:59 p.m. requested options regarding an ex-employee on Ocean Drive Loop. An officer spoke with the caller about their options.
A caller at 9:17 p.m. reported a disturbance in an apartment on East Bayview Avenue. An officer responded and found no crime had been committed.
Jan. 29
A caller at 8:27 a.m. from a local business on Lake Street reported a female shoplifter after the fact. An officer was notified and it’s under investigation.
A caller at 8:43 a.m. reported a suspicious circumstance on East Fairview Avenue and requested a welfare check on children at the location. An officer found the report was unfounded.
An agency at 11:13 a.m. passed on a report that two minors had left a school on the Sterling Highway on foot. The minors were located and their parents were contacted.
A man at 11:15 p.m. went to the police station to reported a vehicle parked in the roadway at Main Street and Rangeview Avenue. An officer contacted the vehicle’s owner and it was removed from the roadway.
A caller at 2:54 p.m. reported a woman stealing from a donation bin on Ocean Drive. An officer went to the scene and it’s under investigation.

A caller at 3:49 a.m. requested a welfare check be made on Main Street and asked for public assistance. An officer went to the location.
A caller at 8:26 a.m. reported a vehicle in the ditch at Mullikin Street and No View Avenue. An officer went to the scene and the vehicle was removed from the ditch by the owner.
A woman at 8:27 a.m. reported a man trespassing on her property on Ocean Drive Loop. An officer arrested the 53-year-old man for violating conditions of his release.
A woman at 10:21 a.m. made a Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately (REDDI) report on a vehicle at West Hill Road and the Sterling Highway. An officer contacted the driver and didn’t find that they were impaired.
Officers at 12:08 p.m. made a public appearance at a school on East End road.
An officer at 2 p.m. removed a disabled vehicle from the roadway at Snowbird Street and the Sterling Highway.
A caller at 3:22 p.m. reported a shoplifter at a business on Lake Street. An officer went to the scene and gave an 18-year-old woman a summons for concealing merchandise.
A local business on Greatland Street at 3:12 p.m. made an after the fact report of a woman who had been trespassed from the building but kept returning. An officer was notified.
Officers at 3:19 p.m. responded to a vehicle in the ditch at Mile 168 Sterling Highway. They found all was OK.
A caller at 6:03 p.m. reported a theft from a business on East Pioneer Avenue. An officer went to the location.
A caller at 10:13 p.m. requested a welfare check be made on Main Street. An officer went to the residence and found everything was OK.
An officer at 11:58 p.m. met a caller at the Homer Animal Shelter to take in a found dog.
Jan. 31
A caller at 9:27 a.m. reported an assault at a local school on the Sterling Highway. An officer went to the location.
Multiple callers at 1:49 p.m. reported an industrial accident at Mile 5 Homer Spit Road. Officers went to the location to assist medics.
A local business at 4:40 p.m. requested a man be given a trespass notice to keep him from a business on Ocean Drive. An officer spoke with the caller and advised the man in question about the trespass notice.
A caller at 6:29 p.m. reported a vehicle in the ditch at Main Street and Danview Avenue. An officer went to the scene.
An officer at 6:46 p.m. contacted a vehicle that was off the roadway at East Hill Road and East End Road.
An officer at 10:22 p.m. assisted another agency on Bear Creek Drive.

A caller at 2:09 a.m. reported a suspicious person on Main Street. An officer went to the location.
An officer at 4:38 a.m. responded to an unattended death on Kachemak Way.
A woman at 10:44 a.m. went to the police station to report a theft from a building on East End Road. An officer spoke with her and took a report and it’s under investigation.
An officer at 12:51 p.m. investigated a disabled vehicle at Mile 171 Sterling Highway. The officer contacted its owner at their home.
An officer at 1:57 p.m. assisted another agency at Early Spring Street.
A caller at 3:51 p.m. reported a vehicle that was losing trash out of the back of it at Mile 171 Sterling Highway. An officer contacted the driver and warned them about transporting unsecured loads.
A caller at 3:59 p.m. reported a vehicle parked in the roadway on Waddell Street for an extended period of time. An officer went to the scene and left a parking warning on the vehicle.
An officer at 4:22 p.m. responded to a home on White Alder Court for a report of a disturbance and a welfare check. Everyone the officer spoke to denied any problems. Extra patrols were requested in the area.
An officer at 6:08 p.m. found that a man on Whispering Meadows Avenue was in violation of his conditions of release.
A caller at 6:18 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at Mile 3 Spit Road. Officers contacted the driver and didn’t note any impairment.
A caller at 6:49 p.m. reported a vehicle collision at Main Street and Bunnell Avenue that had caused damage. An officer responded to the scene.
A caller at 8:20 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at Mile 168 Sterling Highway. Officers contacted the driver and didn’t detect any impairment.

An officer at 12:27 a.m. assisted medics at Mission Road.
A caller at 6:54 a.m. reported a man sleeping in a public building on Heath Street. An officer went to the scene and advised the man to move along.
Multiple callers at 8:30 a.m. reported concern for a man who was laying in the roadway on Kachemak Drive and “who was almost struck by oncoming traffic.” The person was taken to a medical facility.
A person at 10:55 a.m. went to the police station with a firearm they had found on Spit Road. It was held at the station for safe keeping until the owner could pick it up.
A caller at 1:46 p.m. reported a suspicious vehicle stopped in the middle of the road at Main Street and Pioneer Avenue. Officers went to the location.
A caller at 1:56 p.m. requested a welfare check be made on a family member on Lakeside Drive. An officer went to the scene.
A caller at 2:01 p.m. reported a woman in a store on Greatland Street who was yelling at the caller. An officer went to the scene.
An officer at 4:02 p.m. assisted Alaska State Troopers with a disturbance on Wild Haven Road.
A caller at 5:31 p.m. reported a possibly injured moose on Bayview Court. An officer notified Fish and Game.
A caller at 11:45 p.m. requested a welfare check be made on a person on Main Street. An officer made the welfare check and the person appeared to be OK.
Feb. 3
An officer at 4:23 a.m. provided a person transportation to Bartlett Street.
A caller at 12:41 p.m. reported a break in on Ben Walters Lane after the fact. An officer was advised.
A caller made a 911 call at 4:48 p.m. and hung up. When dispatch called back, they spoke with an employee on Spit Road who said it was a misdial. An officer went to the area and ended up arresting a woman on an outstanding Alaska State Troopers warrant.
An officer at 6:20 p.m. arrested a 39-year-old male driver for driving under the influence on Heath Street.
A caller at 9:42 p.m. reported a suspicious person in the area of Main Street and Fairview Avenue. An officer went to the location but didn’t find anyone.
A caller at 9:51 p.m. reported a sparking street light at Pioneer Avenue and Homer Bypass Road. An officer went to the location but didn’t find any electrical hazard.
Feb. 4
A caller at 4:01 a.m. reported an intoxicated man refusing to leave a location on the Sterling Highway. An officer went to the scene.
A person at 8:20 a.m. went to the police station to report a vehicle striking a pothole on Lake Street. The person didn’t know if the vehicle had been damaged.
A person at 12:18 p.m. went to the police station to report a hit and run on Bartlett Street after the fact.
A caller at 1:45 p.m. reported a vehicle collision in a parking lot on Heath Street that had caused damage. An officer advised the caller.
A caller at 4:34 p.m. reported seeing minors consuming alcohol at Beluga Place/Bishop’s Beach in a social media post. Officers went to the scene.
Troopers
Jan. 30
Alaska State Troopers at 2:55 p.m. arrested a 46-year-old Anchor Point woman on two outstanding warrants for her arrest. The warrants were for violating her conditions of felony probation with a total bail of $3,000. The woman was arrested with the help of residents of Nikolaevsk who located her and convinced her to turn herself into Troopers.
At approximately 3:22 p.m., Soldotna AST Dispatch reported a vehicle rollover that happened at Walter Thomas near mile 168 of the Sterling Highway. Alaska Wildlife Troopers responded and observed a gold Ford F250 on its roof, down an embankment and four individuals standing outside of the vehicle. AWT contacted the driver of the vehicle, a 34-year-old Homer woman, who stated that the roads were slick. The woman stated she tapped on the brakes and her car started to spin out of control and they went off into the ditch. She had her three kids in the back of the vehicle and in their car seats. The kids were ages 3, 2 and 5 months. All parties were wearing their seatbelts. The family was transported to South Peninsula Hospital by EMS.
