The 18th annual Telluride Mountainfilm Festival shows at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Mariner Theatre. A fundraiser for Homer Community Recreation, Mountainfilm combines adventure, mountaineering, unique personalities, and important environmental and social messages. The films tell us something about the world we live in and one we’d like to live in. Mountainfilm is about ideas. It is about cultures and the landscapes they occupy. It is about environmental integrity and about a rich spirit of celebration.
There will be two shows each with different films and content with separate tickets for each night. Advance tickets are on sale for $10 each nght at the Homer Bookstore, 235-7496, or at the Community Recreation office at Homer High School. Homer Outdoor Wilderness Leaders holds a Chili & Chowder Fundraiser at 6 p.m. Saturday in the high school commons before the second night of films.
