A caller at 3:38 p.m. reported a hit and run that had caused damage but no injuries on Lake Street. An officer went to the scene.
A caller at 4:13 p.m. reported a suspicious vehicle on Kachemak Drive. An officer went to the scene.
A caller at 5:18 p.m. reported a hit and run and their place of employment on Ocean Drive. An officer went to the scene and took a report.
An officer at 6:54 p.m. issued a driver a speeding warning at Mile 169.5 Sterling Highway.
A caller at 8:51 p.m. reported a disturbance at their home on Jenny Way. Officers went to the scene, contacted a minor, and held that minor in protective custody.
An officer at 10:07 p.m. contacted a man on private property on East End Road. The officer advised the man to leave.

A caller at A caller at 9:12 a.m. reported ongoing theft from their property on East Pioneer Avenue. An officer went to the scene.
A caller at 5 p.m. reported a shoplifter on Lake Street. An officer went to the location and arrested a 40-year-old woman for fourth-degree theft. She was also trespassed from the building.
A caller at 6:01 p.m. reported a delivery vehicle blocking the roadway at West Hill Road and Seascape Drive. An officer contacted the driver and the vehicle was moved.
An officer at 6:25 p.m. gave a driver a citation for driving without license or registration.
A caller at 10:45 p.m. reported a domestic disturbance on Main Street. Officers went to the location. One man fled the scene and a vehicle was impounded.
Oct. 4
Multiple callers at 2:26 a.m. made a Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately (REDDI) report about a vehicle. An officer contacted the driver at Mile 172.5 Sterling Highway and the 38-year-old man was charged with driving while intoxicated and refusing a chemical test.
A caller at 7:41 a.m. reported a man in the roadway at Pioneer Avenue and Kachemak Way. An officer went to the area but the man was already gone.
A caller at 12:41 p.m. reported a possible wanted subject on East Pioneer Avenue. An officer went to the area but didn’t find the possible wanted person.
A caller at 1:45 p.m. reported a possible wanted person on Ben Walters Lane. An officer found it wasn’t the wanted person and that the report was unfounded.
A caller at 5:19 p.m. reported a disturbance on April Place. An officer responded and issued a no trespass advisement to one man to keep him from the property.
A caller at 9:34 p.m. reported a vehicle at abandoned property on the Sterling Highway. Officers responded and found everything was OK.
A caller at 10:38 p.m. reported a person walking in a residential area at Soundview Avenue and Cabana Court and shining a light into homes. An officer went to the area and found the person in question. They were just walking their dog.

A caller at 1:10 a.m. reported a chronic issue with a dog barking during late hours on Calhoun Court. An officer went to the area but wasn’t able to contact the dog’s owner. The complaint was sent to Animal Control.
A caller at 12:20 p.m. reported suspicious items found in a wooded area near FAA Road and Beluga Lake Ramp. An officer responded to the scene.
A caller at 1:05 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at Mile 170 Sterling Highway. An officer went to the area but the vehicle was already gone.
A caller at 4:41 p.m. requested a welfare check be made on Ocean Drive Loop. An officer went to the scene, contacted the people in question and found everything was OK.
A caller at 5:02 p.m. reported a woman fell and was injured on Ben Walters Lane. An officer and medics went to the scene and transported the woman to the hospital.
A caller at 5:29 p.m. reported that a woman on Bartlett street needed to be placed in protective custody. An officer responded.
The Soldotna Dispatch Center passed on a REDDI report of a vehicle at Mile 164 Sterling Highway. An officer went to the area but didn’t find the vehicle.
Officers at 9:15 p.m. arrested a 30-year-old man on an outstanding warrant at East End Road and Thompson Drive.
Multiple callers at 10:10 p.m. reported people having a party on private property on West Terrace Boulevard. An officer responded, contacted the people and had them vacate the area. They were issued trespass notices.

A caller at 12:55 a.m. reported a woman yelling in the roadway on East Pioneer Avenue. An officer went to the scene and gave the woman a disorderly conduct warning.
A caller at 5:40 a.m. reported concern for their significant other and suspicious activity at a home on West Danview Avenue. An officer went to the scene and found everything was OK.
A caller at 9:52 a.m. reported a burglary alarm going off on Heath Street. Officers went to the scene and found the alarm was unfounded, everything was OK.
A caller at 10:15 a.m. reported smelling a strong odor or smoke on Mattox Road. An officer patrolled the area.
A caller at 2:51 p.m. reported intoxicated people at a business on East Pioneer Avenue. Officers and medics responded.
A caller at 3:58 p.m. reported a moose got hit on property on Bell Avenue. Officers and members of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game went to the scene.
A caller at 6 p.m. reported a vehicle parked on FAA Road. An officer went to the scene but the vehicle was already gone.
An officer at 6:31 p.m. issued multiple traffic warnings on East End Road.
A caller at 7:09 p.m. requested a welfare check on the Sterling Highway. Officers went to the scene and found everything was OK.
An officer made a security check on West Terrace Boulevard at 9:27 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious vehicle in that area at the same time. The officer didn’t find anything suspicious.
Oct. 7
An officer at 4:54 a.m. made a traffic stop at Saltwater Drive and the Sterling Highway for a person driving erratically. The driver fled the scene in the vehicle. Alaska State Troopers and the probations office were advised. AST later contacted the driver and arrested a 36-year-old man for reckless driving and evading an officer.
A caller at 7:39 a.m. reported a suspicious vehicle with a loud engine driving down Whispering Meadows Road. An officer responded to the area.
An officer at 8:37 a.m. arrested a 27-year-old man on a warrant at Mount Augustine Drive and the Sterling Highway.
A caller at 9:51 a.m. reported seeing a wolf at the Homer Harbor on Freight Dock Road. Officers went to the area.
A caller at 12:40 p.m. reported a stolen credit card from the Homer Bypass. Police issued a man a summons for fourth-degree theft.
Officers at 1:35 p.m. issued a man a ticket for a minor consuming alcohol on Heath Street.

A caller at 8:27 p.m. reported a man not leaving his property on Lakeshore Drive. Officers responded.
A caller at 9:22 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle on Ben Walters Lane. Officers contacted the driver and the 38-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence and refusing a chemical test. The man was taken to the Homer Jail and the vehicle was impounded.
An officer at 11:30 p.m. made a security check of restrooms at East Pioneer Avenue and Heath Street and found a man sleeping on a bench. The officer told the man to move along.
Oct. 8
A caller at 12:16 a.m. reported concern for a possible minor on East Pioneer Avenue. An officer went to the scene and provided transportation for one person to a different location.
An officer at 5:05 a.m. issued a driver a DUI warning on the Sterling Highway.
A caller at 1:20 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle on Spit Road. An officer contacted the driver and didn’t note any impairment.
An officer at 3:10 p.m. assisted with putting an animal into the Homer Animal Shelter.
A caller at 3:22 p.m. reported an unattended death on Herndon Drive. Officers went to the scene.
Troopers
Oct. 3
On Sept. 14, Alaska State Troopers from the Anchor Point Post received a report that someone had shot a sub-legal bull moose and left it in the field off Hannah Rene Road in Anchor Point. Alaska Wildlife Troopers responded. Investigation revealed that a 39-year-old Anchor Point man, and a juvenile, had shot and killed three separate bull moose throughout the season. None of the moose killed met the legal antler requirements for the area (45”, 25”and 26” antler spreads). Only one back strap off one moose had been salvaged; the rest of the meat was left on the three animals in the field to spoil. The Anchor Point man was charged on Oct. 3 with three counts of wanton waste of a big game animal, three counts of take sublegal moose in a closed season, two counts of take over limit of moose, three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, one count of illegal possession, three counts of failing to seal antlers, three counts of failing to report a hunt, and three counts of failing to validate harvest ticket. Arraignment has been set for the man to appear in Homer District Court on Oct. 23.
