The annual Burning Basket build week starts Sunday, Sept. 2 and runs noon to 8 p.m. daily through Sept. 8 at Mariner Park on the Homer Spit.
The community is invited to visit and help build the interactive, impermanent art project led by local artist Mavis Muller.
At 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, the community is given the basket, Dream — A Basket of Remembrance & Unburdening, and invited to interact with it through decorations, messages and other artifacts placed in the basket. At sundown Dream will be ignited and burned.
