Kenai Peninsula Fair
The Kenai Peninsula Fair runs Friday through Sunday at the fairgrounds in Ninilchik. Events include up-and-coming country-western act 4th + Main, Dan the Sword Swallower, Blackwater Railroad Company and the ever popular Kenai Peninsula Racing Pigs. Don’t miss pie eating and fish throwing contests, the rodeo, the Ninilchik Rocks art hunt, and Red Shirt Friday, where visitors wear red shirts to “remember everyone deployed.” At 1:30 p.m. Friday everyone is welcome to be part of a tribute heart gathering.
With their youthful energy, 4th + Main combines a modern sound with a classic, four-part approach to music. Featuring Chase McDaniel, Randy Austin, Chris Chavez, and Blake Whitlock, the band combines classic harmonies with modern vocal stylings. For the first time ever, the fair features a staple of carnival acts worldwide, Dan Meyer the Sword Swallower. Returning to the fairground stage after its performance at Salmonfest, folk-rock group Blackwater Railroad Company features songs written by frontman Tyson Davis.
