Longtime Anchor Point resident, Mr. Diamond F. Loosli, 71, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at his home in Anchor Point, Alaska.
Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Anchor Point Cemetery.
Mr. Loosli was born April 8, 1941, to John Franklin and Wanda Vanitta (Moore) Loosli in Rexburg, Ida. Diamond attended school in Anchor Point, Ninilchik and Homer. Diamond first came to Alaska in June of 1951 from Idaho with his family. His parents homesteaded in Anchor Point back in the 1950’s. Diamond lived in Kenai, Anchorage and Valdez before coming back home to Anchor Point.
He retired in 1997 from the Operating Engineer Union, a member for 52 years. He also worked big construction jobs all over Alaska. Diamond loved camping, fishing, snow-machining, and gardening and loved to grow tomatoes in his greenhouse.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Loosli of Anchor Point; sisters, Vanita Thurmond of Anchor Point and Penny Owens of Kenai; brothers, Frank Loosli of Anchor Point and John Loosli of Andrews, Texas; daughters, Tammy Olson of North Kenai and Regina Loosli of Kenai; son, Gordon Loosli of Stockton, Calif., numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren and many, many friends.
