A caller at 5:11 p.m reported an inmate violated a court order by attempting contact with a person.
A caller at 5:37 p.m. reported finding a lost dog on Lake Street. Police put the dog in the Animal Shelter and notified the animal control officer.
Jan. 10
A caller at 9:19 a.m. asked police to do a welfare check on two people sleeping outdoors in the Main Street and Bunnell Avenue area. Police responded.
Police at 10:44 a.m. assisted firefighters in response to an incident on the Spit.
A woman at 11:20 a.m. sent an email reporting her personal information was used to create a social media account.
A caller at 12:56 p.m. reported an unconscious man at a Main Street business. Police and medics responded.
A caller at 3:48 p.m. asked police to issue a trespass notice to a man from a Sterling Highway address. Police responded and issued the notice to the man.
A caller at 4:21 p.m. reported a mail theft from a South Slope Drive address.
Police at 9:33 p.m. did a security check on the West Pioneer Avenue bathrooms and warned a man for sleeping in the bathroom.
Jan. 11
A caller at 10:34 a.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a man sleeping on a picnic table on Hazel Avenue. Police responded but could not find the man.
A caller at 9:45 a.m. reported receiving suspicious calls.
A caller at 11:38 a.m. reported a theft of a package from a mailbox on Soundview Avenue.
A caller at 1:14 p.m. reported finding drug paraphernalia on Kachemak Drive. Police responded but could not find the paraphernalia.
A caller at 3:17 p.m. reported a theft from a coin-operated machine on Main Street.
A caller at 3:45 p.m. reported a man and woman in a domestic dispute in a moving vehicle on Ocean Drive. Police stopped the vehicle. All was OK. The couple said they were tickle-play fighting.
A caller at 5:37 p.m. reported the theft of a phone on Hazel Avenue.
Jan. 12
A caller at 2:55 p.m. reported a vehicle crash with injuries at a Sterling Highway parking lot. Police and medics responded.
A caller at 3:13 p.m. reported items stolen from a yard on Forest Glen Drive.
A caller at 7:24 p.m. reported a water truck leaked water on East End Road.
Jan. 13
A caller at 2:27 p.m. reported a vehicle parked on the Spit beach with the incoming tide covering part of the vehicle. The caller didn’t know if it was occupied. Police responded and found no one in the car. Police contacted the registered owner.
A person at 4:35 p.m. visited the police station to report theft of services.
A caller at 8:16 p.m. reported a woman out of control at a Bartlett Street address. Police responded and the woman calmed down.
A person at 10:28 p.m. made a 911 call of a child inside a vehicle with the keys locked inside and the engine running at a Sterling Highway address. Police responded.
Jan. 14
A caller at 3:30 a.m. reported suspicious activity at a Katamar Avenue address. Police advised the Alaska State Troopers.
A caller at 9:44 a.m. reported a vehicle parked for several days at a vacant Mariner Drive lot. Police responded and determined the vehicle belonged to the owner of the property.
A caller at 1:59 p.m. reported a theft from a Fairview Avenue address.
A caller at 4:13 p.m. reported a shoplifter at a Sterling Highway business. Police responded and arrested a 45-year-old woman for fourth-degree theft.
A caller at 6:27 p.m. reported suspicious activity at a Mattox Road address.
A woman at 6:59 p.m. reported she could hear a dog barking at a Kachemak Drive address. She said she was concerned about the dog because of the cold. The animal control officer was advised. The dog later returned home.
A caller at 11:35 p.m. reported receiving harassing communications.
Jan. 15
A caller at 1:21 a.m. reported being assaulted by a Whispering Meadows Avenue neighbor. Police responded. The parties worked out their issues. All was OK.
A person at 4:36 a.m. made a 911 call reporting an intruded at a Whispering Meadows Avenue address. The caller later reported it was a false alarm.
A caller at 8:30 a.m. reported a woman and a drunk man loitering at a Sterling Highway business. Police responded and provided transportation for the man.
A caller at 2:50 p.m. reported the smell of natural gas in the Beluga Circle area. Police notified Enstar Natural Gas.
A caller at 3:27 p.m. reported a child custody issue at a Ben Walters Lane address. Police spoke to both parties.
A person at 6:20 p.m. made a 911 call of a child custody issue at a Kramer Lane address.
A caller at 7:46 p.m. reported unauthorized people might be at a Svedlund Circle home. Police found all was OK.
Troopers
Jan. 10
Alaska State Troopers received a report of a theft from an address on Katamar Drive in Homer. The victim reported that several hundred dollars in cash was stolen from their residence during the weekend. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

Judgments
Gregory J. Erhart, 25, charge dismissed, fourth-degree assault.
Randi L. Iverson, 63, pleaded guilty to third-degree theft. Imposition of sentence was suspended subject to the conditions that she pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund; pay restitution to Ulmer’s Drug &Hardware in the amount of $681.93, and complete 100 hours of Community Work Service by Jan. 2, 2018. She was placed on probation for one year.
Andrew K. Kita, 43, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence. He was fined $2,000 with $500 suspended and sentenced to 30 days in jail with 27 days suspended; ordered to pay $75 to support the Police Training Fund, a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended and the $330 cost of imprisonment; ordered to attend an alcohol safety action program and install an ignition interlock device; had his driver’s license revoked for 90 days; and was placed on probation for one year.

Daniel J. Lieble, 30, drunk person on licensed premises, fifth-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree theft.
