Many helped ‘hustle’ soar

Many helped ‘hustle’ soar

The Halibut Hustle 5K may have missed out on the sunny Saturday weather but with a brave field of participants who were undaunted by the Sunday morning forecast along with the support from the City of Homer Port and Harbor staff, we had a fantastic event.

A mighty big thank you to Angie Otteson, Matt Clark and their staff from the city of Homer for their hands on support and “can do” attitude from the planning stage to post race which made this event possible, the Alaska Marine Conservation Council for including us in their Homer Halibut festivities, the Homer Chamber of Commerce, Falcom Greear who helped us get into “hustle” mode with a zumba warm-up, Chris Perk for his steadfast support of the Kachemak Bay Running Club and for adding the “halibut” to to our hustle once again, Land’s End for offering a delicious discounted brunch menu, our amazing race volunteers, and to all the participants who hustled around our beautiful harbor for the halibut.

That was our last timed event for the year but we will continue to host our weekly Thursday evening fun runs (or walks) that start at 6 p.m. throughout the winter. See kachemakbayrunningclub.org or our Facebook page for monthly locations. Hope to see you there.
