Homer Electric Association would like to thank everyone who helped make our fifth annual Energy and Conservation Fairs a great success. The fairs at the Kenai Middle School and West Homer Elementary School attracted approximately 1,000 people who received information about energy efficiency, renewable energy, recycling and other topics related to this year’s theme, “Safe, Responsible Energy Solutions.”
There is a long list of folks who deserve special recognition starting with our 2013 Platinum Sponsors, Ohlson Mountain Mineral Springs H2O and Kachemak Electric Company. Additional thanks to Re-Group for the use of their recycle bins for collecting plastic water bottles, HEA Youth Rally participant Makayla Wong for her help in the Kid Zone, Skyview High School girls basketball team and Homer High School boys basketball team for their participation in the success of the event.
HEA also extends a big thank you to the Alaska Energy Authority for sponsoring the Energy Hog demonstration which was a big hit with the children that attended the fairs.
