Aug. 15

A person at 10:22 a.m. made a 911 call to report a three-legged black bear went behind a neighbor’s house. An officer and Fish and Game were advised.

An officer at 8:25 p.m. contacted a driver during a traffic stop near the fish dock on Spit Road and noted possible drug use.

Callers at 9:31 p.m. reported a domestic dispute over property at Bonanza Avenue. Officers went to the scene.

Aug. 16

A caller at 2:20 a.m. reported a domestic disturbance on Rangeview Avenue. Officers and medics went to the scene and a man was arrested for criminal mischief.

A person at 10:08 a.m. made a 911 call to report a burglary on Spit Road. An officer went to the area.

An officer at 12:50 p.m. warned a driver for speed at Mile 171 Sterling Highway.

A caller at 2:24 p.m. made a Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately (REDDI) report at Ohlson Lane. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 4:19 p.m. reported a salesperson in the area of Eagle View Drive, possibly without a permit. An officer went to the area.

A caller at 6:14 p.m. made a REDDI report of a vehicle speeding, passing unsafely and flipping off other drivers on Spit Road. An officer went to the area.

An officer at 7:15 p.m. made a traffic stop at Hohe Street and Danview Avenue. A woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Aug. 17

Officers at 2:36 a.m. arrested a person on an outstanding warrant at Main Street and Bunnell Avenue.

Officers at 4 a.m. assisted another agency by conducting a probation search at mile 171 Sterling Highway.

An officer at 8:18 a.m. assisted the Alaska State Troopers with a fishing violation at Mile 3 Spit Road.

A caller at 12:29 p.m. reported harassment after the fact at West Bunnell Avenue and requested a trespass order for subjects. An officer went to the scene.

An anonymous caller at 1:08 p.m. reported a highly intoxicated man and woman in a verbal altercation at Bishop’s Beach. An officer went to the scene.

A business at 1:56 p.m. reported a woman who trespassed and returned to the business and then left on foot. An officer went to the scene but was unable to locate her.

Aug. 18

A person at 7:56 a.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at Ocean Drive and Douglas Street. An officer was unable to locate the vehicle.

Officers at 11:30 a.m. arrested a woman on an outstanding warrant on East Pioneer Avenue.

A caller at 3:48 p.m. reported a possibly suicidal man in the Homer Area. The man was contacted and taken to South Peninsula Hospital for a medical evaluation.

A caller at 7:23 p.m. reported seeing a missing juvenile on the Homer Bypass. An officer went to the scene, and the parent was notified.

A caller at 9:01 p.m. made a REDDI report of a vehicle speeding with aggressive behavior at Heath Street and the Homer Bypass. An officer was unable to locate the vehicle.

Aug. 19

A person at 2:58 p.m. came to the counter to report suspicious circumstances at Early Spring Street. Officers went to the location for a welfare check.

A person at 3:36 p.m. made a 911 call to report a subject would not cooperate on Bonanza Avenue. An officer went to the scene and served a temporary restraining order.

A driver at 5:09 p.m. was issued a citation for driving while license suspended at West Hill Road and the Sterling Highway.

A caller at 9:28 p.m. reported a verbal domestic violence situation on Main Street. An officer went to the scene and the subject was gone on arrival. The caller was advised of their options.

A caller at 11:10 p.m. reported a domestic dispute at Bishop’s Beach. An officer went to the scene and a man was arrested for fourth-degree assault and fifth-degree criminal mischief, and was taken to the Homer Jail.

Aug. 20

A caller at 1:24 a.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle on East Pioneer Avenue. A man was later arrested for driving under the influence.

A driver at 12:59 a.m. was warned for not having valid registration at Spit Road and Freight Dock Road.

A caller at 9:26 a.m. reported hearing gunfire at the city reservoir on Crossman Ridge Road. A subject was contacted and advised of the city ordinance regarding shooting firearms.

A man at 10 a.m. reported a vehicle with a man passed out in the front seat. An officer contacted the man, and all was found to be OK.

Aug. 21

A caller at 12:42 p.m. reported campers trespassing on private property on Skyline Drive and Cozy Cove. An officer went to the area.

A caller at 1:34 p.m. reported seeing a person wanted on an outstanding warrant in a business on Lake Street. Officers went to the scene and a man was arrested on an outstanding warrant and taken to the Homer Jail.

A caller at 2:20 p.m. reported seeing a person with an outstanding warrant in a business on Lake Street. Officers went to the scene and arrested a man on the warrant.

A business at 3:54 p.m. called to report a shoplifter on Lake Street. An officer went to the scene.

A person at 5:04 p.m. made a 911 call to make a REDDI report on a vehicle on Spit Road. An officer went to the area and contacted the driver. No impairment was noted.

Troopers

Aug. 16

Alaska State Troopers at about 6:20 p.m. in Anchor Point responded to a residence in Homer for a report of a disturbance. Subsequent investigation revealed a 69-year-man assaulted an adult female living at the residence. He was arrested for fourth-degree assault and remanded at the Homer jail without bail.

Aug. 20

Alaska State Troopers at about 10:40 p.m. at approximately in Homer conducted a traffic stop on East End Road near Sea Side Farm. Troopers contacted a 25-year-old Homer man. Investigation revealed he was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. The man was arrested and transported to Homer Jail for a breath sample, after which he was remanded to Homer Jail.
