An Anchor Point man who walked back to the scene of his wife’s driving under the influence investigation also was arrested for DUI last week. Alaska State Troopers charged Peter Alman, 51, with DUI and his wife, Shannon Alman, 43, with DUI, refusal to submit to a chemical test, and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

According to a criminal complaint, Trooper Peter Frederick stopped Shannon Alman driving a Subaru Legacy on the North Fork Road after he said she crossed the center line. Frederick said Alman failed field sobriety tests and had a preliminary breath alcohol content of .318 percent. During the stop, Frederick said Alman told him she was following her husband while he drove a Chevrolet Tahoe. 

Peter Alman parked the Tahoe on the road ahead and walked back to the scene. Shannon Alman said her husband had been driving. Frederick said Peter Alman also showed impairment on field sobriety tests and had a preliminary test of .21 percent and Datamaster test of .18 percent. The husband also was arrested for DUI.

Frederick said a child was in a booster seat in Shannon Alman’s car, but that the seat was not properly secured. Frederick said Shannon Alman refused to provide a second Datamaster test.
