Acoustic folk singers John Craigie and Leigh Jones perform at 7 p.m. Aug. 9 at K Bay Caffé. Admission is $10. A touring folk singer, Craigie also is a songwriter and story teller. His themes range from social commentary to personal empowerment, political satire and modern love. He has traveled around the world, playing in venues from private homes to festivals, and has performed in all 50 United States and beyond, bringing his music to nearly every corner of the planet.
Jones is a Brooklyn-based singer, songwriter and actor. Raised in North Carolina, her music evokes the spirit of New York City, where she has lived all her adult life, while allowing her southern roots to shine through. She draws inspiration from such artists as Joni Mitchell, Emmylou Harris and Neko Case.
