Former Homer residents Deloris and Wilbur Babcock celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. They married on Jan 1, 1953, in Goshen, Ind. They met in northern Minnesota where Deloris was teaching in Vacation Bible School. They lived and worked in Homer from 1968 to 1979. Deloris taught 5th grade at Homer Elementary and Wilbur built boats at Kachemak Marine. They have four children: Brent and his wife Ruth Babcock, the late Bruce Babcock, Cheryl and her husband Randy Frosh of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Karen and her husband Mike DeVaney. With the exception of Cheryl, all the children live in Alaska.
