Nation moving in Right direction

At last, the sails of the Ship of State are beginning to fill, and  billow, in the Right direction. The self-proclaimed intellectuals, the ones that are trying to control every aspect of our lives in the name of “caring” and “fairness” are understandably upset. After all, the climate, the poor, the animals, the oppressed, the mentally ill, the ocean, the forests, the rivers, the whatever-cause-du-jour they can come up with are all now in extreme danger,  right?  Yeah, right.

All we need to do to ensure the New World Order is to give up our freedoms. Oh, the Left is very much pro-choice, except when it comes to gun ownership, education (think “Common Core”), medical care (think “Affordable” Care Act), energy, school lunches, speech, personal transportation, Life,  Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Basically, anything that requires individual freedom, individual responsibility, and individual effort is being very deliberately, removed from our lives. This is wrong.

The United States is a constitutional republic, with a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.  It is this system that has allowed us to make the incredible strides in so many areas of human existance in such a short span of time, becoming a leader in a world where other nations have existed for centuries longer. For the past six years this unique system has been under a secretive and sinister attack.

It is true that, with Republicans in control of both houses of Congress, it is very likely that almost no useful legislation will be passed for the next couple of years. That is very much A-OK.  At least there will also be no exceedingly awful legislation passed, either.  Of course, the current occupant of the Oval Office will do his best to use executive authority, his pen and his phone, to create laws of his choosing, in spite of our elected representatives.

I, for one, will be contacting my senators and representative often to stress that they are to not compromise,  to not reach across the aisle, and to not seek common ground.  I will be telling them to do whatever they can to put a stop to the horrendous policies that have been taking this country “down the tubes” for the past six years.

Let’s start working, right now, on Project “Re-Occupy the  Oval” … Office, that is.
