At 4:43 p.m. a 46-year-old Kenai man driving north in a 1995 Dodge pickup truck near Milepost 145 Sterling Highway tried to pass a car in front of him and crossed the center lane toward an oncoming 2013 Ford Explorer patrol car driven by an Alaska State Trooper. The trooper tried to take evasive action, but the Dodge truck spun out of control and hit the driver’s side of the Ford.
