Go pink in October to support local families affected by breast cancer. One in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their lives. This includes our mothers, daughters, friends and neighbors right here in our community.

 The October Breast Cancer Awareness Month Pink Flag Campaign helps local families affected by breast cancer by supporting access to screening, treatment, education and other support services provided at no cost through Kachemak Bay Family Planning Clinic.  

 Through our Women’s Health Outreach Program, we connect with families door-to-door and help them eliminate barriers to screening such as cost or transportation. As a Title X clinic and provider for the Alaska Breast and Cervical Health Check program, we offer no-cost annual exams, clinical breast exams, mammograms and diagnostic services to those who qualify. 

Our trained Certified Application Counselors also help individuals and families enroll in health insurance and Medicaid. Since we offer services on a $0-based sliding scale, no one is ever turned away due to inability to pay. 

Partnerships with local businesses and individuals are crucial in making our breast cancer support efforts possible. Each flag is a $100 tax-deductible donation that stays right here in our community.
