Dec. 28

A person at 10:05 a.m. made a 911 call of an armed robbery at an Ohlson Lane shop. Police responded.

A caller at 10:05 a.m. reported a theft from a car on Kachemak Drive.

Police at 2:19 p.m. arrested a 28-year-old man on a warrant.

Dec. 29

A police officer at 2:51 a.m. reported a car off Skyline Drive that was stuck.

A caller at 8:19 a.m. reported a civil issue involving a towed vehicle on the Spit.

A caller at 4:45 p.m. reported a civil issue.

Police at 6:23 a.m. went to a vehicle in the ditch on Main Street.

A caller at 6:55 p.m. reported losing a wallet at the harbor.

Police at 6:57 p.m. contacted a suspicious vehicle in an Ocean Drive parking lot after business hours. All was OK.

A police officer at 7:31 p.m. saw a person possibly violating third-party conditions of release at a Lake Street address.

A caller at 10:51 p.m. reported items stolen at a Sterling Highway address. Police advised the victim of options.

A caller at 10:51 p.m. asked for information regarding an assault that happened two weeks ago.

Dec. 30

A caller at 12:06 p.m. reported losing keys on the Spit.

A caller at 6:03 p.m. made a “report every dangerous driver immediately” complaint of a driver on the Sterling Highway. Police contacted the driver and found no impairment.

A caller at 7 p.m. reported losing a wallet.

A caller at 7:52 p.m. reported black ice on the road near Mile 170 Sterling Highway. Police notified road crews.

Dec. 31

A caller at 1:09 a.m. reported hearing someone trying to gain access to a locked building on Pioneer Avenue. Police responded but did not find anyone in the area.

A caller at 12:37 p.m. reported a dispute over damages to a room.

A person at 1 p.m. dropped off found property at the police station. 

A caller at 1:59 p.m. reported a drunk man causing a disturbance at a Heath Street address. Police responded.

A caller at 2:05 p.m. reported losing a passport.

A caller at 5:05 p.m. reported losing a wallet.

A caller at 5:24 p.m. reported a dispute with a family member at a Felix Circle address. Police responded and determined the incident did not rise to the level of a crime.

A caller at 5:25 p.m. reported a man causing a disturbance at a Sterling Highway business. An officer wasn’t available at the time. An Alaska State Trooper and a jail officer responded. They issued a trespass notice to a man.

A caller at 5:38 p.m. reported items stolen from a Bay Vista Court address.

A caller at 5:47 p.m. reported a family member acted out of character and also had a history of suicide. Police and harbor officers were to be on the lookout for the person at the harbor. Police also notified Alaska State Troopers.

A caller at 7:37 p.m. reported receiving harassing text messages.

A caller at 10:56 p.m. reported a suspicious person knocking on doors and windows in the Fairview Avenue area. Police responded but could not find a suspect.

Jan. 1

A caller at 12:04 a.m. reported fireworks in the Bayview Avenue area.

A caller at 12:25 a.m. reported a suicidal person on the Spit. Police responded and took the person into protective custody.

A caller at 2:25 a.m. reported someone throwing a flare around in the road on Pioneer Avenue. Police responded and the flare was extinguished.

A caller at 6:42 a.m. reported a vehicle in the ditch and a possible REDDI driver on Ocean Drive. Police responded but could not find the suspect driver.

A caller at 12:18 p.m. reported losing a wallet at a Greatland Street address.

A caller at 10:16 p.m. reported a hit-and-run in a parking lot on Ben Walters lane.

Jan. 2

A caller at 12:37 p.m. asked police to stand by while securing a residence on Pennock Street.

A caller at 4:45 p.m. reported vandalism to personal property.

A caller at 8:01 p.m. reported finding his neighbor deceased at the dead man’s Linda Court home. Police responded and found a 53-year-old man had died of natural causes. Next of kin was notified.

Police at 11:31 p.m. contacted a driver on Pioneer Avenue and warned the person for driving under the influence, drugs and marijuana.

Jan. 4

Police at  3:22 p.m. contacted a 24-year-old woman driving on Lakeshore Drive and issued her a summons for driving while license revoked.

Police at 3:51 p.m. contacted a 31-year-old man driving on Ben Walters Drive and issued him a summons for a driver’s license violation.

A caller at 4:27 p.m. reported a suspicious vehicle on East End Road. Police responded and found all was OK.

A caller at 5:39 p.m. reported a moose calf limping near traffic on Pioneer Avenue.

A caller at 7:03 p.m. reported a slow driver impeded traffic on the Sterling Highway.
