The Alaska Small Business Develop-ment Center has scheduled three workshops for October at the Homer Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center building.

• There will be a free “Starting A Business” seminar beginning at 10 a.m.
Oct. 19. Bryan Zak will answer questions and offer helpful resources in this two-hour workshop. Zak will prepare participants for a productive relationship with Alaska Small Business Development Center and its partner programs, and explain the value of the center’s free services. The deadline to register is
Oct. 12.

n There will be a free seminar on Alaska Division of Economic Development loan programs from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 23. Information will be presented on existing and new state loan programs. The deadline to register is Oct. 19. Seating is limited.

• There will be a $30 “Benefits of Budgeting” seminar from 1-4 p.m. Oct. 29. Zak will show participants methods to monitor, measure and manage the amount of cash moving through a business. The deadline to register is Oct. 22. Payment can be by cash, check, MasterCard or VISA.
