Alaska State Troopers at 10:22 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 57-year-old Anchor Point man on the Old Sterling Highway. Police arrested the man for driving under the influence and fourth-degree weapons misconduct for driving drunk while in possession of firearms.
Jan. 4
Troopers at 6:46 p.m. received a “Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately” complaint of a person driving on the Sterling Highway. Troopers stopped the suspect, a 68-year-old Anchor Point man, and arrested him for DUI.
Jan. 7
Troopers at 10:30 p.m. went to a disturbance in progress at a Shelby Kay Court home in Homer. A man reported that he had been assaulted by his wife. Police arrested a 45-year-old Homer woman for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.
Jan. 9
Troopers at 4:13 p.m. went to a car crash near Mile 154 Sterling Highway. Troopers said a 30-year-old Anchorage man lost control of his Toyota 4-Runner and rolled into the ditch by a private driveway. The man wore his seatbelt and was uninjured. Police suspect the man drove at a speed not reasonable or prudent for icy roads.
Troopers at 3:53 p.m. went to a report of a burglary and theft from a residence near Lothrop Park Drive in Ninilchik. Troopers said sometime in the past week someone stole a Toyo stove and propane tank. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crimes Stoppers at 1-800-478-HALT (478-4258).
Jan. 10
Troopers at 1:25 p.m. went to a report of a car crash on the Sterling Highway near Blackwater Bend in Anchor Point. Troopers said a 53-year-old Homer man had been driving erratically behind another driver, passed the car ahead and went into the ditch. EMTs took the man to South Peninsula Hospital by EMS for suspected injuries.
