Huskies win three firsts during Homer Invite
The Homer Huskies hosted Nikiski, Kenai and Soldotna Feb. 1 for the 2013 Homer Invite.
The 3K state ski race felt like a 5K, with a steep, hilly course on the Lookout Trails.  “It  was wicked fun, with a few spills and lots of smiles,” said Coach Tad Russell.
“These kids skied their hearts out. There were some gutsy performances out there and a couple close finishes,” said Russell.
Homer took three first places and a second. Coach Pete Alexson noted that every skier has improved this season and they are a fun group to coach.
The Huskies travel to Soldotna on Feb. 22.
