Meeting Notice
The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Board of Education will hold a business meeting at Homer High School‘s Mariner Theatre on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 6 p.m.
Committee meetings and work sessions will be held prior to the business meeting. The public is welcome to attend.

Kachemak Bay Campus, Kenai Peninsula College
Spring semester planning for classes beginning
Kachemak Bay Campus, Kenai Peninsula College, is always interested in people looking to teach classes in their area of interest, said Kachemak Bay Campus, Kenai Peninsula College director Carol Swartz.
Currently, the college employs 25 adjunct faculty instructors in addition to the full-time professors who teach students at KBC, Swartz said.
“(They) are teaching a full gamut of credit and non-credit classes.” Swartz said. “We’re always looking for … new people who move to Homer with skills and expertise and we definitely are trying to get the word out to let people know that if someone wants to join our adjunct faculty to feel free to apply.”
In addition to adjuncts looking to offer new classes to the Homer area, Swartz wants to know what sort of classes people in Homer would like to take, whether it is for credit towards a degree or as a non-credit class for recreational education.
“If people want anything different they should let me know,” Swartz said. “I’m interested in hearing if the public wants any credit or non credit classes.”
