A man at 1:32 p.m. reported fraud and a credit-card theft.
A caller at 2:47 p.m. reported detaining a shoplifter at a Lake Street store. Police arrested an 18-year-old woman for theft and concealment of merchandise.
A woman at 3:58 p.m. reported a phone scam.
A caller at 4:55 p.m. reported a shoplifter at a Greatland Street store. Police issued a trespass notice to the suspect.
A caller at 5:54 p.m. reported possible drug activity in the woods behind Safeway. Police responded and arrested a 25-year-old man for furnishing alcohol to minors.
Aug. 5
A caller at 12:30 a.m. reported a bike stolen from a Ben Walters Lane address. Police found the bike and arrested a 20-year-old man for fourth-degree theft.
A caller at 10:10 a.m. reported a window shot with a pellet gun at a Ben Walters Lane address.
Several callers at 12:17 p.m. reported a man wearing a ghillie, or camouflage, suit and walking on the sidewalk on Pioneer Avenue.
A caller at 2:32 p.m. reported smoke from a slash pile on Charles Way. No burn permit was on file. Police and firefighters responded and advised the person operating the burn pile of permit regulations.
Aug. 6
A person at 10:41 a.m. made a 911 call of a domestic disturbance at Karen Hornaday Park. Police responded.
A man at 10:26 a.m. went to the police station to report rumors going around about himself and if police were doing an investigation. Police said they were not doing an investigation and advised the man to call the Alaska State Troopers.
A caller at 2:16 p.m. said a person in the Fireweed Lane area released domestic rabbits which are eating garden plants. Police advised the person to talk to the Animal Control Officer.
A man at 7:05 p.m. reported a man continued to take video recordings of people fishing on the Spit after the man had been requested to stop. Police responded but could not find the videographer.
A caller at 8:20 p.m. reported a person who had been trespassed was back at a Sterling Highway store. Police responded and advised the suspect of the trespass order.
Aug. 7
Callers at 9:28 a.m. and 2:43 p.m. reported a phone scam from a person claiming to be from Publishers Clearing House and asking for personal information. The callers did not provide any information.
A man at 11:45 a.m. reported an East End Road home had been broken into.
A caller at 1:08 p.m. reported a shoplifter at a Lake Street store. Police contacted the suspect, a juvenile, and forwarded the case to the Division of Juvenile Justice.
A caller at 2:15 p.m. reported seeing a suspect in a theft two months ago at an Ocean Drive address. Police contacted the suspect and gave the person 24 hours to return the stolen item to Homer Police before charges are filed.
Police at 4:44 p.m. contacted a 26-year-old man driving on the Spit and issued him a summons for driving while license suspended.
A man at 11:43 p.m. reported a car-moose collision on Ocean Drive with damage but no injuries.
A caller at 11:43 p.m. reported a vehicle in the ditch on Main Street. Police responded and arrested a 46-year-old woman for driving under the influence.
