A man at 6:11 p.m. reported a moose with a shattered foot crossed the road on Kachemak Drive.

A man at 11:20 p.m. reported excessive noise coming from Jack Gist Park. Police responded and found all was OK.

July 8

A caller at 8:51 a.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a pedestrian on Pioneer Avenue. Police contacted an 18-year-old man and determined he was OK.

A caller at 10:49 a.m. reported being drunk and unable to report for a scheduled jail sentence. Police told the person to report when sober.

A man at 11:15 a.m. reported losing a phone.

A man at 12:39 p.m. reported an ATV driver in a prohibited area on the Spit.

A man at 1:16 p.m. reported losing a cell phone on Pioneer Avenue.

A man at 1:27 p.m. reported being hit by a car in a Sterling Highway parking lot. The man was uninjured. The car left the scene of the incident.

A man at 6:18 p.m. reported a bicycle stolen from a Hazel Avenue address.

A woman at 9:12 p.m. reported vehicles in a pedestrian-only area of Bishop’s Beach. Police responded and found all was OK.

A caller at 9:26 p.m. reported an abandoned car on Bishop’s Beach.

Police at 11:48 p.m. advised a person of camping rules and expired registration on a car at Karen Hornaday Park.

A man at 11:40 p.m. reported loud music in the Clearwater Drive area. Police contacted the suspect who agreed to turn down the music.

July 9

A woman at 1 a.m. reported loud machinery noise in the Bowers Lane area. Police responded and determined it was night-time road construction.

A man at 3:38 p.m. reported a tailgate has been missing from his Dodge pickup truck since the night before.

A man at 5:35 p.m. reported a suspicious item in the road on Pioneer Avenue.

A woman at 6:59 p.m. reported someone stole a flower from her garden on Shannon Court. Police contacted a suspect and advised the person to stay out of the woman’s yard.

Police at 11:31 p.m. contacted a 32-year-old man driving on East End Road near Spencer Road and arrested him for driving while license revoked and not having an ignition-interlock device on his car.

July 10

A caller at 5:50 a.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a disoriented person on the Spit. Police responded and released the person to a responsible party’s care.

A caller at 1:15 p.m. asked for police help in removing people from a Pioneer Avenue business. Police responded and issued an indefinite trespass notice to a person.

A caller at 4:06 p.m. reported a long-board style skate board stolen from the Homer Public Library.

A person at 4:02 p.m. made a 911 call asking police to do a welfare check on a person at a Pioneer Avenue restaurant. Police responded and found the matter was a civil issue.

An official with the Office of Children’s Services at 4:42 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a family.

A person at 7:01 p.m. made a 911 call that another person was being assaulted on the Spit. Police responded and contacted the victim, a 22-year-old woman. She was given transportation to alternate housing.

An official with the Homer Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center at 7:24 p.m. asked police to do a security check of its parking lot for unlawful campers.

A person at 9:20 p.m. reported an assault at a Lake Street address. Police responded and arrested a 54-year-old woman for third-degree assault and two counts of fourth-degree assault, all domestic violence related. 

July 11

Police at 12:01 a.m. warned a driver for failure to yield to emergency vehicles on Beluga Place.

A man at 10:50 a.m. reported items stolen from a boat on the Spit.

A caller at 11:09 a.m. reported a suspicious vehicle on the Spit. Police contacted the registered owner of the vehicle who reported a theft.

A caller at 1:09 p.m. reported a theft from a Lake Street building.

A woman at 2:14 p.m. reported a bicycle stolen from a Rogers Loop home.

A woman at 2:22 p.m. turned in a found wallet at the police station. Police contacted the owner.

A man at 4:20 p.m. reported trespassing and criminal mischief at a Kachemak Drive address. Police advised options.

Police at 9:06 p.m. contacted a 30-year-old man driving on the Sterling Highway and issued him a summons for driving while license revoked.

A caller at 11:02 p.m. reported young people stealing pallets from the Homer High School parking lot. Police contacted suspects.

July 12

A caller at 4:07 a.m. reported a person sleeping outside a Ben Walters Lane business. Police responded and a man agreed  to leave the area.

A caller at 7:43 a.m. reported shoplifters at a Sterling Highway business. Police responded and issued a summons to a 26-year-old woman for theft.

A man at 2:30 p.m. reported runaway juveniles in the Sabrina Road area. Police responded and found the juveniles.

A caller at 6:42 p.m. reported finding a wheelchair behind a Pioneer Avenue bar.

A caller at 7:51 p.m. reported finding an Arizona driver’s license on the Spit.

A woman at 11:13 p.m. reported loud music coming from a Bartlett Street home. Police responded and asked the people to turn down the music.

A woman at 11:26 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a drunk man on East End Road near Rochelle Road. Police responded but could not find the man.

A health-care worker at 11:26 p.m. reported a patient with a gunshot wound at South Peninsula Hospital. Police responded and notified another agency.

July 13

A person at 1:08 a.m. made a 911 call of loud music coming from a nearby Karen Hornaday Park campsite. Police responded and told the camper to keep the noise down.

Police at 1:07 a.m. made a traffic stop on a woman driving on Rochelle Road. Police arrested a 20-year-old man on an outstanding warrant and warned the woman of driving under the influence.

A woman at 10:57 a.m. reported a possibly injured eagle on the Spit. Police notified U.S. Fish and Wildlife.

A woman at 11 a.m. reported losing a wallet from the roof of her car on Main Street.

A woman at 3 p.m. reported young people on the roof of a Pioneer Avenue building. Police responded but the suspects were gone.

A caller at 4:39 p.m. reported a suspicious person at the Concert on the Lawn at Karen Hornaday Park.
