Members of the SPH Auxiliary enjoy a moment of recognition at their April monthly meeting. In honor of April being National Volunteer Month, South Peninsula Hospital recognized its volunteers for their outstanding contributions to the community hospital. More than 100 volunteers serve the hospital and long-term care in roles that range from leadership and finance to patient and resident care. Volunteers can be found visiting long-term care patients, working in the auxiliary gift shop, working in the gardens, serving on boards and more, providing an estimated 7,600 hours of work in the last year, according to SPH spokesperson Derotha Ferraro.
