Wedding Sylvester D. 'Sandy' Mazen and McKibben A. Jackinsky Sylvester D. "Sandy" Mazen and McKibben A. Jackinsky were married in a private ceremony Feb. 22, 2009. The wedding was held at the groom's home in Homer, with Lt. Cmdr. Greg Tlapa, commanding officer of the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Hickory, officiating. Sandy is originally from Nome and is a retired psychologist and a former professor at Arizona State University. McKibben is from Ninilchik and is a reporter for the Homer News. The couple plan to divide their time between Homer and Ninilchik, with trips to the Lower 48 to visit the children and grandchildren of their extended family.
