Spencer T. and Linda R. Ellsworth

Spencer T. and Linda R. Ellsworth celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 8, 2017. They met on July 4, 1965, in Sacramento, Calif., and married on July 8, 1967, in Renton, Wash. They celebrate their anniversary at their cabin on Saturday, July 8, with family and friends.

They moved to Homer in 1974 in a converted 1954 International school bus with two toddlers and another baby girl on the way.

For the next three years they lived in cabins on the Hodel and Paul Banks homestead. In 1978 they built their first home on Skyline Drive and welcomed a son. Spencer worked as an electronic tech, opening Electronics Unlimited in 1981, specializing in marine electronics. He retired in 2012.

Linda and Spencer were very involved in the community, volunteering with the Homer Volunteer Fire Department, Pier One Theatre, the Homer Council on the Arts, KBBI and all things involving their four children.

Linda opened the first espresso bar, Latitude 59, in 1988, and has never stopped making coffee since. She’s still involved with Pier One Theatre as concession manager, actress, director, etc. They have loved Homer since the first day they arrived at the top of Baycrest Hill.
